Project History
The Color Cosm project actually started in the 2006 era when I was creating the Old Bluevine Studios and trying to automate the creation of digital art as much as possible. My focus was on an automated sketching algorithm that interfaced with Corel Painter. The color program was a bit of an afterthought. The original idea was to first create a rough targeted color image to start from and then use Corel Painter's cloning features to create the art.
Here's one of my best examples of that process:
Turns out the auto-painting algorithm proved too much but the color mapping idea remained. Just recently in 2019 I resuscitated the project when I saw how unhappy I was with how the project ended. The new project became an obsession and I feel it's something unique and interesting.
